Scriptural Reference: You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. [Matthew 5:14]

Purpose: The purpose of this blog is to provide a forum for theological reflection on the practice of ministry and our living as pilgrim disciples. It is hoped that through our sharing of ideas, we will deepen the spiritual foundations that nurture spiritual and intellectual growth, as well as congregational transformation and development. Such an enterprise requires imagination, the creativity of spiritual lighthouses.

Practical Advice: There is an anecdote which relates a conversation that the captain of a US aircraft carrier had with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland. The captain told the Canadian authorities to change course by 15 degrees to the north so as to avoid a collision. The Canadian reply told the Captain to change course by 15 degrees to the south. The naval response said: This is the captain of a US Navy Ship. I say again, divert your course. The Canadian authorities gave a cryptic response: This is a lighthouse. Your call. Now, imagine that.
